Power Color | Red

October 21, 2016 April Merlas

There's something about the color red that gets me in my zone. Maybe it's because I'm a fire sign and that my ruling planet is Mars. Okay you caught me, it's obvious that I'm very into astrology.

Although growing up, I never understood the color. In fact, I actually despised it.

Sure, there's maroon and burgundy - but there's ALWAYS maroon and burgundy. I became attracted to the idea of this color because I've never really given it a chance.

When I decided to go out of my comfort zone, I wanted to kill it in a red dress for a recent trip to Vegas. It was a form fitting choker dress from Missguided that I was obsessed with! That night, my friend mentioned me being the "girl in the red dress".

The color red is more of a representation to me more than anything. It possesses power, but the good kind. The kind of power that makes you feel confident, power that means owning your strengths and showing off what you got.

Red not your thing? For starters, try out a bold red lip. You'll find it empowering. Once you find your power color in life, whether it's red, navy, or if there's multiple power colors in your life, there's no going back.

And why would you? Experiment and keep moving forward.

Exploring different countries in Asia has always been on my bucket list but Singaporean culture was something completely (with a lack of a better word) foreign to me.

Starting off my days in Manila, I've been accompanied with my best friend Sam - who took me to lunch (after no longer being jet lagged) at a spot in SM San Lazaro, a popular chain all across the PI.
